1st day: Fez to Merzouga via Cedar Forest - middle Atlas<

Today, we will pick you up from your riad in fes, and drive towards the south via the Middle Atlas Mountains, stopping in the cedar forest to see the Barbarian Ape in their natural habitat. Traveling through the Tizi Ntalghamt pass to Midelt and along the magnificent Ziz Gorges carved through volcanic rock, you’ll see views of the Middle-Atlas plateau, noticing how the scenery changes to reveal hints of the desert as you approach the city Errachidia. After lunch, we’ll continue our journey through the Ziz valley to Rissani and Merzouga, our home. After a glass of mint tea, you’ll be ready for your camel and guided by an experienced camel guide you’ll start your safari exploring within the mysterious sand-sea of the Erg-Chebbi. Here you’ll spend your night under the stars in a traditional Berber nomad tent. Dinner will be served in the tent where you’ll spend the night.

2nd day: Merzouga - Todra Gorge - Dades Valley

Your camel guide will wake you up early in the morning to watch what well may be the best sunrise of your life. Afterwards, you’ll peacefully camel-trek back to your Riad appreciating the unique beauty of the spectacular Erg Chebbi dunes – changing with the light as the day progresses. After breakfast in the Riad, you’ll leave for Tinghir and Todra gorges – the highest, narrowest gorges in Morocco. Here you’ll have the opportunity to hike along it’s valley. After lunch in the heart of the gorge we’ll drive through the Dades Valley, where you’ll see the majestic sand castles and the amazing rock formations known as “monkey toes”. Bucket list checked
Our fabulous trip to Morocco could not have been any better! Two couples traveled on the 11 night tour with Hmad and Yousef as our informative guide and driver. It was so great to be escorted entirely through the beautiful country. Each Riad was uniquely beautiful and very comfortable. Hmad’s compassion for his country was evident - we couldn’t have asked for a better guide. The tour was thorough and covered nearly all the highlights. We especially enjoyed visiting the Nomad families and experiencing their lifestyles, the camels to the Dunes Luxury Camp was another highlight, Todra Gorge can’t be missed! The Land Cruiser Prado was perfect for the off-road places to the Nomadic desert places. This was an incredible cultural experience and a highlight on my bucket list! was fabulous! Highly recommended! Thank you Hmad and Yousef, Mohammed and all the others that made our wonderful trip become a reality!

Magical Experience
We went to Morocco with very little knowledge about it’s culture and history. After touring the southern part with the aid and expertise of Hamid, our patient and caring guide and Hassan, our careful and protective driver, we return to our home country with hearts full and with so much love for Morocco. We also thank Mohammad for putting together an itinerary that allowed us to see the best sceneries of South Morocco. We will definitely share and recommend this magical experience with family and friends.
